About Me

Builder of distributed systems, platforms, and the occasional guitar riff.

I like building things, understanding how they work, and finding structure in seemingly complicated problems.

I've spent the last 15 years working across different layers of software, from mobile applications and SDKs to backend systems, distributed platforms, cloud infrastructure, and ML platforms. My career has taken me through Samsung, Amazon, and Maersk, where I've had the opportunity to work on everything from software running on flagship mobile devices to platforms processing millions of requests a day and systems that bring machine learning into business workflows.

What has stayed constant is my fascination with structure.

I enjoy taking something complex, breaking it down into its fundamental pieces, understanding how those pieces interact, and then finding the right abstractions to put it back together. That's probably why distributed systems and platform engineering have always felt natural to me. Good architecture, to me, is often about discovering the underlying structure of a problem and making it simpler for everyone else.

Interestingly, I find the same satisfaction in music.

Music is an incredibly structured system: notes, scales, intervals, rhythm, harmony and patterns all fitting together to create something that feels intuitive and expressive. I enjoy exploring that structure through the guitar and piano/keyboard. I'm not trying to be a great musician; I simply enjoy being able to pick up an instrument, understand a little more of the underlying system, and then use that understanding to make something.

That curiosity extends beyond engineering too. I like learning how things work, experimenting with new ideas, and occasionally going down completely unnecessary rabbit holes simply because something is interesting.

Engineering

My professional journey has moved across domains rather than staying confined to one layer of the stack.

I started with enterprise backend systems, moved into mobile and SDK development at Samsung, then spent several years at Amazon building distributed and ML platforms, and most recently worked at Maersk on large-scale logistics platforms, developer platforms, and workflow systems.

Working across mobile and backend has shaped how I think about software. I've seen problems from both ends: the experience of the developer or user consuming a platform, and the complexity of the systems underneath it.

Today, I'm particularly interested in distributed systems, platform engineering, AI/ML platforms, developer productivity, and the architecture that connects all of them.

I enjoy problems where the answer isn't obvious, where you have to understand the system, find the real constraint, make the right trade-offs, and build something that gives other people leverage.

And outside of all of that, you'll probably find me with a guitar, a keyboard, or exploring some new idea that I probably didn't need to explore.
